Reclaiming Hornets, Charlotte Bobcats considers name change
With New Orleans rebranding their franchise to the Pelicans, Charlotte is considering to take Hornets. The name was taken from Charlotte in 2002 when the franchise relocated to New Orleans. Now there is a discussion to change back to the Hornets, which is the name of the Charlotte franchise when it joined the NBA in 1988.
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist currently plays for the Bobcats. Now, he can be a Hornet.
Do you know who else played for the Charlotte Hornets? Kentucky legend Rex Chapman! He played for the Hornets on his first year.
