Montgomery County Beats Mercer County for 3rd Place in Ft. Harrod Classic
The Montgomery County Indians got off to a hot start in the 1st quarter and Mercer County couldn’t recover as the Indians grabbed 3rd place in the Ft. Harrod Classic 81-63.
Montgomery County, coached by Happy Osborne, outscored the host team 20-8 in the opening frame, led by the sharp shooting of Sam Hodgson.
Hodgson finished the game with a team leading 18 points, hitting 5 of 6 from behind the arc.
William and Mary signee Omar Prewitt was in foul trouble for most of the game, but till finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Mercer County was led in scoring by Will Hager’s 20 points, getting most of his points from the free throw line, swishing 11 of 17.
The win improved Montgomery County’s record to 9-2. The loss dropped Mercer County to 7-4 on the season.
