Michigan Drops Out of Top 4 in College Football Playoff Rankings


Following a controversial double overtime loss at Ohio State, the Michigan Wolverines have dropped to No. 5 in the updated College Football Playoff Rankings.

Alabama remains No. 1 this week and have all but sealed up a spot in the national semifinals.

Ohio State is No. 2 after surviving Michigan. Clemson is No. 3 and Washington comes in at No. 4.

– Alabama: they are in
– Ohio State: almost certainly in
– Clemson: must beat Virginia Tech in ACC title game
– Washington: must beat Colorado in PAC 12 title game
– Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State: one of these 3 or even two could find a way in if Clemson and/or Washington lose
– Colorado: long shot; would need to beat Washington convincingly, have Clemson lose and pray that the Big Ten rebels and says they aren’t sending a team to the semifinals
