Marcus Lee Picks Kentucky

Marcus Lee has become the 5th member of the #1 basketball recruiting class of 2013 for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Lee announced his decision at Deer Valley High School, California where he averaged 13.9 points and 9.1 blocks per game during the 2011-12 season, as the Wolverines finished 22-9, won the Bay Valley Athletic League and advanced to the North Coast Section Division I championship game.

The 6’9″ 205lb forward is ranked #15 by, #28 by ESPN, #32 by Scout, and #9 by 24/7 Sports.

California was in the final 2 for Marcus Lee.

John Calipari gets another shot blocker that has seemed to fit the prototypical defense the Wildcats have been playing since Anthony Davis created the template to win championships.

How many more will Cal add to this class?

Here is a list of possible additions:

Julius Randle
Tyler Roberson
Aaron Gordon
Andrew Wiggins

About Scott Anderson

I love covering the Kentucky Wildcats and even though I can't cheer on the outside when I go to games now, I am definitely cheering on the inside. You can follow me at @SAndersonNOB on twitter.

  1. Hell yeah!!!!! Welcome to the BBN!!!!

  2. Welcome to BBN…glad you came to claim #9!!!

  3. Uh, excuse me!!! Claim #10!!!!! We haven’t played this season yet!!!!

  4. My bad, how could I overlook the great season we have coming up!!!! Go Cats!!!!

  5. What about Kennedy Meeks on the possible additions list??? Last time I checked he had an offer from UK…And going by early 2013 draft predictions we are more than likely going to be short a center…I think with the rest of the talent we have coming in he would compliment them perfectly.

  6. I think Cauley will stay his sophomore season which will give us the center we will need.

  7. 9.1 BLOCKS per game?!?! That can’t be accurate!

  8. Great job cal

  9. Aaron Gordon, you know what to do!!!
