Julius Randle Knows how Much Calipari Cares
Julius Randle’s recent injury has kept him off the court, but it hasn’t kept a ton of college coaches keeping in touch and calling with words of encouragement.
John Calipari spoke with Randle recently and told the top 2013 recruit that he wants him at Kentucky if he can play basketball or not.
I had a really good talk with Coach (John) Calipari since my injury too. He’s funny. He told me that worst-case scenario, if I never play again, I could still come to Kentucky on scholarship and after I graduate I’d be his assistant. The crazy thing is that I know he’s serious about that. It just showed me how much he really cared about me and my future. That meant a lot to me.
Jerry Meyer of 24/7 Sports is reporting that Julius Randle will visit Kansas on Feb 16th for their game with Texas.
