Tyler Roberson worked out for Orlando Antigua recently, and even though he was nursing an ankle injury, he still got up and down and shown what he could do.
John Calipari is reportedly going to make the trip to Roselle Catholic in New Jersey to see Roberson next week and the 6’8″ forward is hoping from an offer.
Kentucky has yet to officially offer Roberson — who has cut his list to 10 schools, including Kentucky — but head coach John Calipari is expected in Tuesday or Wednesday for a home visit and to watch Roberson again.
“I hope that they will [offer him],” Roselle Catholic coach Dave Boff said. “My feeling is that when schools are around this late in the game, there’s normally an offer at some point. But nothing’s been promised to us that there will be an offer.”
Asked if he was expecting an offer, Roberson said, “Hopefully.”
It will be interesting to see if Roberson gets an offer because of the growing list of 2013 recruits that have already received an invitation to join Derek Willis in the Kentucky class.
I am sure Roberson is good, but it almost feels like he is a backup plan if Kentucky loses out on higher rated prospects.
