Fan of the Week Contest Winner. Week 49

Hello Everyone! It's that time of the week again. Our winner for the Fan of the Week contest comes to us from New Bedford Ma. (Lovin the reach of our fans!) Congratulations Janessa and her photo buddy, Ozzy.

• Who is Your Favorite UK Player?
In 1993 I was finally old enough to understand the magnitude of Kentucky basketball; I was in the 3rd grade. With that said I’m going to have to say Jamal Mashburn. That year he helped take the Cats to the final four. During my free time, I would practice signing his autograph, over and over. My goal was to autograph one of his pictures and trick my older brother into thinking I had met him. I was a distraught little girl when he left for the NBA.

• What is Your Favorite UK Memory?
Tough question. I guess it would have to be Kentucky beating Syracuse 76-67 in 1996. It was the Cats 6^th title, but the first one I was alive to experience. Ask me in March and I might say winning title #8.

• Why Do you think you are the Ultimate UK Fan?
Ever since I was a little girl I have cheered for the Cats. Although I no longer dress up in my blue and white cheerleading uniform while watching the games, I’m no less of a fan. I was always the only one on spring break that wanted to stop, whatever we may have been doing, to watch a basketball game. I now live in New England and proudly wear my Kentucky blue amidst the numerous other local team colors. People often ask me if I’m a Celtics fan. My answer, “No, but I like Rondo.” Go Wildcats!
