Alex Poythress is one of the top Kentucky targets for the 2012 class and it sounds like he could be making his college decision soon.
Adam Zagorida spoke to Poythress' AAU coach Norm Parker:
As for the 6-8 Poythress, he is considering Kentucky, Florida, Memphis and Vanderbilt, and finished his last visit to Memphis two weekends ago.
“They gotta make their decision,” Norm Parker said. “I couldn’t tell you who the favorite was with either one. I want them to go where they want to go.
“Both got great schools, good coaches. I don’t see how they can make a bad decision.”
I heard from a source today that Poythress is favoring Memphis right now.
That really surprised me since it had been reported that Kentucky and Vanderbilt were his top 2.
Maybe his last visit, which was to Pastner and the Tigers, made a huge impression on the 6'8" forward from Clarksville, TN.
I think Kentucky still has a great shot at Poythress, but don't be surprised if he picks Memphis.
