    Kings to Kentucky?

What do you think about the idea of the Kings leaving Sacramento and heading towards Kentucky?

I really super duper like the idea. We need a professional basketball team in Kentucky. We have almost everything in Kentucky except for professional teams. It would be a huge boost to the economy too! Plus I am all for bringing Cousins back

That would be absolutely awesome!! We are a college BBall town and if the Kings came we could also be an NBA town!! Woot Woot! Then we could watch our awesome college players grow into awesome NBA players! GO UK!

I think it would be a good move, especially if UK gets their own arena. Then the Kings would take over Rupp, which would - of course - be renamed.

That's one of those "nice to think about" ideas that I just don't see happening.

Just hearing this is bringing goosebumps to me. LOL. That would be awesome. I really haven't ever liked 1 certain NBA team, except when Jordan played with the Bulls. This would be a great Idea though.

Rupp would have to ALWAYS be Rupp and where the cats play. There would be a big scene if they changed the name or moved the cats elsewhere. Plus, it would be a disgrace to Adolph. I do like the idea of the Kings coming to Kentucky. HEY THEY CAN MOVE TO LOUISVILLE AND THE NCAA DO AWAY WITH THE CARDINALS. LOL

I would love to see the Kings come to KY. But...that doesn't mean Boogie would be back AND...if an NBA team came to LexVegas, they would probably not accept Rupp as their arena. They would want to build their own.

No way, No how. Kentucky don't need any professional teams. Why? Well that's easy because we have the CATS. That is part of what makes Kentucky special is because we have no pro teams around trying to steal our thunder. Also, there is no way we would let a pro team play in Rupp and try to take it over. That is the house that Rupp built and it is for UK basketball first and foremost. No pro teams please. It would go against everything that is the tradition of Kentucky Basketball.

    Re: Kings to Kentucky?

i wouldn't want it.. we're a college state..mostly rural...the cost of a new arena would be passed on to the citizens.. people already come from near and far to watch UK .. not sure if they would do that for a Pro team here..especially if it's an expansion..we like the established tradition now a name like "The Kentucky Colonels" might draw a few out..but if we get one it would have to most definitely be based in louisville for the population and then be supported with travel from lex too.

Is this just a rumor or are the Kings actually pursuing this?

Ummmm They wouldn't play in Lexington. Its too small and rural. The team would be based in Louisville.
