this is a sad sad story.. Ive hated the NCAA for some time now.. But they did something right with this situation.. they are gonna allow KU to pay for the funeral! That is the kind of human element that the rules dont cover and Im glad they went outside of the box on this.. My heart is with this kid and his family!!

Really sad situation and has to be really tough on their family. NCAA did the right thing in this situation and Prayers have been sent for the family during their time of need.

This is the first I've heard of this but this is truly moving. I just hope whatever measures are taken aren't something they come back later to try to use against him. My heart goes out to the little girl. I had a similar circumstance this week about someone having so many things happening to a family in a small amount of time. I have a 26 year old friend that just died of Colon Cancer....she was married for a little over 2 years but while her husband was dealing with this his father was diagnosed with cancer and his mother had a stroke. I can't imagine how people deal with that many things going wrong without the strongest faith they can muster.

Really glad to see something good done for someone without it being about the 'money', or recognition, or fame! My prayers go out to the family!

I remember reading this story when it first happened. Such a heartbreaking story. It really puts things into perspective. Prayer for the family.
