    RTC Says UK-UofL isn't Basketball's Best Rivalry

Rush the Court says that UK-UofL is not the greatest rivalry in College Basketball, and it is all Loserville's fault. They cite national relevance and the fact that Cal's teams have won each contest by a double digit average.

I understand that this game isn't garaunteed to pit two top five teams every year like it did this year, but Cal and Pitino alone provide much more fodder for rivalry than Coach K. and Ol' Roy, any day. There is just much more of a story line than any other rivalry in college ball, regardless of ranking. Not to mention, the type of tense, physical game it has provided, especially with Cal's teams, makes this the perfect rivalry game. Oh contraire, RTC, contraire indeed.

Also, the fact that the rivalry game isn't played 3 and sometimes 4 times a year lends credit to the fact that it IS, indeed, college basketball's best rivalry game. These teams play each other 1 time each year, unless they meet in a tournament game. 1 game that will be talked about for an entire year.

It's the best rivalry game in basketball. Duke/UNC might have the best rivalry series, but UK/UofL has the best single game.

I actually agree that its not the best rivalry. As much as I hate hearing about dUKe and unc, I have to say it is better in my opinion because they are both among the premier programs in the nation. With the UK/loserville rivalry you have the top program of all time in UK vs a good but not great program in louisville, I can see why a non UK fan wouldn't consider it the best rivalry.

If you honestly think that the UK vs. UofL rivalry is the best in the country (particularly over Duke vs. UNC), you are truly showing bias towards your team (UK). I'm a lifelong fan of Kentucky, but can understand the bias. If you as anyone out of the tri-state area about the UK vs. UofL game, most could care less if they even knew it existed. My family moved to Texas recently and it was an eye opener to how few sports fans knew about the game. Easily a top five rivalry in college basketball, but not the best and definately not the best across all sports. Need to have national recognition to be the best and this game simply doesn't have that like Duke vs. UNC (as a basketball fan, I love watching this game and believe that playing more than once adds significance).

Finally, to all Kentucky fans wanting to poke fun at our rival, "loser" and "looser" are very different words.
