Easy question, tough answer. Wall or Cousins?
Fake Billy, of course!
This is a lot tougher now than it was at the beginning of the season. With Wall, you get a versatile PG who can hurt the opponent in a number of ways. He can penetrate and kick, has blazing speed, and at the beginning of the season was knocking down the 15 ft. jumper. The one thing with Wall is he has a tremendous upside to him and will only continue to get better with age.
With DeMarcus, you get an instant low post presence. Some folks are calling him the Shaquille O'neal of this generation. With a 6'10 260lb frame, he has the ability to bully people around the rim and score at will. He has been a rebounding machine and have yet to see him outworked down low. The biggest negative I see on DeMarcus is obviously his attitude. Will he be able to control his emotions and will GM's want to take that risk with him?
I guess it depends really on who has the first pick in the draft. The Nets are clearly the favorites for the first pick, but already have a PG in Harris. BUT, we all know that Harris is nowhere near the impact player that John Wall is going to be. If a team like the Hornets, who already have Chris Paul leading the team, or the Jazz, who have Williams running the point get the first pick, then I could see them going after DeMarcus. It will really depend on who gets that first pick.
But, to answer your question, if I was the one picking, I'd have to go with Wall. Point Guards make a team run. You take a look at a team like the Hornets who are consistently in games just because of Paul. He is a true floor general and puts his team in the best situations come crunch time. You don't get that type of leadership from a center. Thus, I would pick John Wall as the #1 pick in the draft.
You pass up the Fake Billy Clyde, thats your fault, hope you can live with that.
I'd honestly rather build my team around a point guard than a big man. There is all types of big bodies out there that will fight for the ball and dunk it, but you don't have many point guards out there that could create the same type of impact that Wall can and put as many butts in the seats either, because at the end of the day its about money in the NBA.
If you 'has'....duh, even blondes know it should be if you 'have'...come on guys, act like you have some intelligence.
I don't think it's that hard to answer......I want the 6'11", 260lb. beast who can run the floor and dominate the post. Wall is amazing but there are a lot of great point guards out there....very few truely great big men left!!! Cousins is a beast!
I like big men, they can reach things I can't, lift heavy things and drive bigger cars....Boogie is the beast! You won't have too many worries with him under the basket!
What are my teams needs? Do I need a PG? A center? Generic question that is hard to answer. If I have Rose, Evans, Rondo, Paul.......I am not taking Wall.
Wall is a player to build your team around, just as Charlee said. He is one of those players that do not come around very often, just like Rondo, he will be better in the NBA, only much better than Rondo when he got onto the scene. Regardless of your needs, I believe you must take Wall because he will most likely be an impact player from the start. Cousins is great, don't get me wrong, but he is much bigger and tougher than his opposition thus far. He has been able to handle his opponents due to his size, but when he turns pro those guys are going to get rough right back at him because they are just as big and in some cases even bigger.

Well I'm immediately taking Cousins who has had a VERY consistent statistical year. 17 double-doubles so far, and he's not done. Look at the Orlando Magic, who have built around Dwight Howard, and I honestly think Cousins has the potential to be better than Howard in his pro career. You would just need to stock up on shooters and give the ball to the big man, cause DeMarcus has great passing and great footwork abilities.
It really just depends on what the team with the number one pick needs. Its hard to pass up a pg with such potential, but it works the same way with Demarcus. Both players are extremly hard to pass on. But I myself would take D Cuz. Simple b/c he has proved to be more reliable, in route to post 20 double doubles this season is very impressive as a freshman. But like everyone else has said I think the #1 pick will depend on which team gets it, there is no gaurantee besides the #1 pick is definatley coming from UK!
John and DeMarcus are a close pick. Either will make someone the best!!!
It's a very tough choice, but I think Cousins is more consistent than Wall. I don't think it would hurt for Wall to stay one more year and mature a litte, but I know that won't happen. Good luck to both of them!
