Thread: Dick Vitale Gives 3 Goggle Love

Dick Vitale, who took a beatdown on twitter after chatising 3 goggles during the Kansas game, has retracted a little.

Ok BBN u r right about 3 Goggles- Didn't realize it was in fun & not to ridicule but I Totally feel there is no reason 4 FLEXING & POSING!

Terrence, read what Dickie says after "but," I totally agree.

I don't mind "the look" when coming off a nasty dunk. Maybe a slight pause as if to say "did you see that?". But, I think the whole "flexing" thing is silly and childish. You're not implying anything other than self righteousness by flexing. But, by giving the cameraman a pause and questioning glance, or throwing up 3-goggles you're making reference to the actual play in the game. Keep the focus on the game ... not the player. This is a game of finess, not brute strength. Leave the flexing to the dimwit muscle-heads.

If any agreed but Jones has been flexing ever since hes got to Kentucky. But that look in his eyes when we gets serious....FREAK ME THE HELL OUT

How does Vitale watch as much basketball as he does and not understand the concept of the 3 goggles? They are pretty played out anyways. Perhaps Vitale's comments should be notice of that. Regarding the flexing and what not, some times it is relevant (e.g. Harrelson vs. Sullinger) other times its just, well, not. Class is not something that can be taught, I suppose.

Vitale is just jealous taht he has nothing to flex -- babbyyy! I've seen alot worse by other teams!

I think the flexing pose is kinda d-bag, too. But Dick Vitale complaining that someone is overly emotional and too demonstrative is like Bobby Knight appealing for better sportsmanship.

Come on people, Harrelson, anyone? There was a much worse example but I will only post it if you guys don't relent, because you know you loved some of Jorts caveman anitcs, right? I know I did...

Just wait until jones gets beat down the court by his man coz he's busy posing and we give up an easy 2. That is the problem I foresee with that type of celebrating. On the other hand Davis seems to be a hustler maybe he'll be there to block that shot
