Thread: Cats lost due to Coaching?

I'm in the middle of doing the post game sound off and I'll tell you that many fans think we lost because of coaching. I have to say that this was not one of Calipari's better coaching games. I think these fans have a point.

The coaching may have not been at its best. However, lets not forget about the 20 3pt shot streak that came up short every time. The cats dominated the first few games with the 2 pointers and a strong def. However, this game it all seemed to go out the window. It was a great game. They just didn't have it tonight, as a team (a team including the coaching staff and all together.)

Those fans that you speak of must be the same fans that make up the excuses every time there is a loss. WVU just out played us. Plain and simple. coach Cal has done a terrific job this year and to blame the coaching staff would be absolutely ludicrous. We have had issues in the past guarding on the perimeter. WVU is a perimeter shooting team. Our guys lacked on the threes and the free throws. Any time I saw Calipari on the screen he was coaching his team. I seen him yell at the refs and at one point thought a T was about to get slapped on him. So I am not exactly sure which game they were watching, but I was watching the game in which we were outscored on free throws and threes.

Nope I just don't trust Cal, never have. He is a sub par coach, but really good at getting recruits legally or ilegally I'm not sure. He doesn't understand that free-throws and 3 pointers are important and he still doesn't understand how important every game is for us. When we lossed to UT this year he didn't think it was a big deal, he didn't thinkn the SEC tournament is a big deal.

The loss was simply due to the 3's. WVU nailing them and Kentucky not being able to find the hammer.

If you all think he done such a bad job, maybe you think you could do better! haha that's a joke. Everyone else thinks he done a great job and he did! But you've always got people with nothing else to do but put people done, If you don't like it move and cheer for someone else!!!!!!

I don't! They did a great job, all of them. Get over it and move on.

Yea the coaching was pretty bad. That game should have been a kentucky win. John Hood should have been put in there because that kid can hit the 3.

No the cats did not lose because of coaching,their were a lot of things that lost the game.But I am so proud of the Coach and the team,if you think back to last year they did not even get to the NCAA,so lets just thank God that we have a wonderful Coach and have enjoyed a winning year one to be proud of.Gog Bless the WILDCATS.

Seriously?! People let me remind you what Coach Cal has single handedly done to turn this program around from a NIT losing team to an Elite 8 appearance in ONE YEAR!!! WVU had a better game... we are still the better team. 3 pointers and free throws is what killed us... Kentucky never loses, we beat ourselves...

I agree with you , coach cal has done a wonderful job.

Coach Cal did a great job this year and so did the players. Not sure why anyone would want to put him or the team down.

i think they had a wonderful year, and yes some of us want to be selfish and win it all, and yes that would of been great, but coach Cal and our players done a great job, no one realizes what kind of pressure goes along with this sport, so for mostly freshman leading this team, I think they done great, espically against sophmores, juniors, and seniors.. GREAT YEAR CATS, WE LOVE YOU AND WE HOPE TO SEE YA NEXT YEAR.......
