    Calipari has "Rick Pitino Envy?

Rick Bozich of the Louisville Courier-Journal took some jabs at Calipari today. One that really stands out? He accuses Calipari of having "Rick Pitino Envy." He says: "Actually, what makes this unique is if Calipari devoted as much time to solving a 1-3-1 zone as he does to taking shots at Pitino and U of L, he’d be able to discuss something that registers beyond the whole state, like a national championship..."

Envy? Possible. But not likely. I think he just likes getting under his skin. What are your thoughts?

My thoughts are, what is there to envy? The Pitino that won it all with UK is NOT the same man that we see looking like Mr. Burns from the Simpsons, all feeble and trembly up in Loserville. If anything, Pitino envy's Cal. He refers to UK as Camelot, Cal gets all his recruits. Cal still looks like a normal human being and not the crypt keeper. Cal still has a legitimate shot at winning titles, Cal still has the respect of the people who know him personally and has not made his wife look like a fool. I was a 12 year old UK fan in 92' and Pitino WAS the man. Pitino envies what he once had and if anything wishes he could think like Cal and come up with the unique innovative ideas to further his program and brand like Cal. Pitino is about to wish he was in a legit basketball conference, too.

I am pretty sure if anyone is full of envy it's Pitino.

It is R. Pinito that envies Coach Cal...why? Because Coach Cal is the current coach of "Camelot!" R. P envies that...after all, why would Coach Cal envy any coach at UofL??? And, when R. P was looking to come back to college coaching basketball after a sad performance with the pros, the best job he could land was "down the ladder," at UofL!!! Coach Cal, climbed up the ladder at Camelot! Coach Cal envious...NOT! LOL!

    No doubt about that one.

Re: Calipari has "Rick Pitino Envy?

Bozich is trying to sell papers. UK and U of L football is nothing to write home about so how about a little John C envies Ricky P article to stir things up. It seems to have worked.

I have no doubt that Cal envies RP for the championship that Pitino has. But that's about all he could envy. Cal has the better job; makes more money; gets better recruits; is younger and hasn't publicly humiliated his family.

It's very obvious that Bozich had it backwards. When RP came back to KY he thought he would be able to pickup where he had left off. Since then he's learned a hard lesson. Louisville is a good coaching job but it's not KY. Not even close.
