Rebels Advance To Title Game With Win Over K-State

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) - Chris Warren scored 27 and Terrico White 25 as Ole Miss (4-0) earned an 86-74 win over Kansas State (3-1) to advance to the championship game of the O'Reilly Auto Parts Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Sunday's title game will feature the Rebels against nationally ranked No. 5 Villanova at 9 p.m. AT, 7 p.m. CT, televised by ESPN2.

Eniel Polynice added 13 points and Murphy Holloway posted his second double-double of the year with 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Rebels.

Ole Miss shot 63 percent from the field in the second half, quickly building on a 32-30 halftime lead. White's jumper with 8:58 remaining made it 63-53, and the Wildcats (3-1) never managed to get the lead back under 10 points.

Curtis Kelly had 18 points and 10 rebounds for Kansas State. Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente added 17 points each, and freshman Wally Judge finished with 11 points.

Villanova beat No. 18 Dayton 71-65 in the tournament's other semifinal.

FLORIDA 80, TROY 58

GAINESVILLE, Fla.(AP) -- Kenny Boynton scored 23 points, Erving Walker found his shooting touch in the second half and Florida beat Troy 80-58 on Friday night in the second round of the Legends Classic. Walker finished with 13 points, all in the second half, after missing 15 consecutive shots. Chandler Parsons (15) and Dan Werner (12) also were in double digits for the Gators (3-0), who improved to 46-2 at home against non-conference opponents since 2004.

Richard Delk led the Trojans (2-1) with 15 points. Antywan Jones added eight points and five rebounds.

Troy led 32-31 at halftime, thanks mostly to 10 offensive rebounds and another off shooting night for Florida. But the Gators got hot to start the second half, especially Walker.

UCF 84, AUBURN 74

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.(AP) --
A.J Tyler had 19 points and eight rebounds as Central Florida defeated Auburn 84-74 at the Glenn Wilkes Classic on Friday night.

Taylor Young and Dave Diakite had eight first-half points apiece for the Knights (3-0), who opened the game with a 13-0 run en route to a 41-24 lead at intermission. Each finished with 12 points.

Auburn (1-2) got 22 points from Frankie Sullivan and DeWayne Reed added 15.

The Knights held Auburn scoreless until Reed hit a 3-pointer 7 minutes into the game. The Tigers pulled within 21-17 later in the first half on Sullivan's jumper.

But UCF put together another spurt, outscoring the Tigers 15-3, including a nifty lay-up basket by Young, to go ahead 36-20.

UCF preserved the win by hitting 8 of 8 free throws during the final minute.

The Knights entered the game 0-27 all-time against SEC teams.

ARKANSAS 81, APPALACHIAN ST 72

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.(AP) -- Freshman forward Marshawn Powell scored a career-high 29 points and grabbed seven rebounds as Arkansas held off Appalachian State 81-72 in overtime Friday night. Josh Hunter's 3-point basket with 5.6 seconds left in regulation tied it 68-68 after Arkansas walk-on Stephen Cox missed two free throws with 21 seconds left. Arkansas' Rotnei Clarke's off-balance 3-pointer missed as time expired.

But Powell continued his hot play in the extra period, hitting a 3-pointer at the 4:40 mark. His steal with 1:37 left preserved a six-point lead.

The Razorbacks (2-1) outscored Appalachian State 13-4 in overtime.

Powell, who had double-doubles in his first two games, scored three crucial baskets in the final five minutes.

The Mountaineers (2-2) held a brief second-half lead after Arkansas led by 20 points in the first half and 38-23 at halftime.

ALABAMA 84, PROVIDENCE 75

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.(AP) -- Mikhail Torrance scored 26 points and came up with a key three-point play to lift Alabama over Providence 84-75 on Friday night.

After Andrew Steele's layup gave Alabama a 76-75 lead with 1:10 left, Torrance came up with a steal, drove the length of the floor and converted the basket plus the foul with 0:44 seconds left to put the Crimson Tide (2-1) up 79-75.

Torrance then went 3-for-4 from the free-throw line and Senario Hillman dunked the ball with 14 seconds left to hand the Friars (3-1) their first loss of the season.

Providence led 37-33 at halftime, but shot just 34.3 percent (12-for-35) in the second half while Alabama shot 53.3 percent (16-for-30).

Justin Knox added 13 points and 10 rebounds for Alabama and JaMychal Green had 15 points and 12 boards.

Jamine Peterson led the Friars with 27 points and 14 rebounds.

Marshon Brooks added 22.
