ESPN doesn't have a lot of confidence in the returning defense for Kentucky. They ranked the linebacking core for each team in the SEC, and the Cats are bringing up the rear.
12. Kentucky: Junior Danny Trevathan returns at weakside linebacker. He’s the Wildcats’ leading returning tackler. But after Trevathan, there’s not much game experience at linebacker. Redshirt freshman Qua Huzzie made a big impression on the coaches last preseason before hurting his shoulder. Sophomore Ridge Wilson is another younger player who needs to come through for the Wildcats at linebacker.
I know everyone is always worried about the quarterback position and the offense, but if the Cats can't stop anybody, it doesn't matter how many points we score. I hope Huzzie and Wilson can step up, and maybe a couple of other guys. If they don't, it could be a very long year.
