Former UK forward Derek Willis has been invited to training camp for USA Basketball’s AmeriCup team.

USA Basketball will use the training camp, which will be held at the University of Houston Aug. 17-24, to help determine its 12-man roster to compete at the FIBA AmeriCup 2017. The team will be coached by former NBA head coach and current ESPN NBA analyst Jeff Van Gundy.
The USA will compete against Panama, Uruguay and Dominican Republic in Group C of the AmeriCup Aug. 28-30 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
