Cousins is NOT a Head Case, He's Passionate
Debunking the myth that DeMarcus might be a problem for the team that drafts him.

Attachment 1588People who think that Big Cuz is a head case should, well, go and get their head checked. To be clear, it seems that folks think his talent and athleticism is fine on the court. DeMarcus has a special talent and his big body and moves can certainly be beneficial to any team. What people don't seem to be as certain on is his maturity and ability to keep a level head on the court. Let me be clear to those people: after studying Cousins for a year at Kentucky, I don't see it.

However, when he was on the court and more importantly walking towards the sidelines, you could routinely see him disagreeing and arguing with his head coach in a way not representative of a gentleman.
I don’t want to say it’s a sense of entitlement with Cousins because that doesn’t seem to be the issue. I think he’s a very strong-willed individual who can butt heads with other strong-willed individuals. Put him in a program with a more easy-going head coach and you’d probably never know that Cousins was considered somewhat of a problem child. Sure, he’d throw the occasional elbow to an opponent’s head and he’d probably get a technical foul for screaming at the referee. But overall, you wouldn’t see him screaming at his coach to go intercourse himself.”
This is just one recent quote. Do a search and see for yourself what others are saying. It's all pretty much the same. It's all crap. Instead of converting his behavior into negativity, why not call it what it is? PASSION. At least that is what I remember seeing. He plays with unmatched passion, and sure with that comes excitement and sometimes anger. But I don't see it to be, or where it will become a problem. For the program that drafts him, I think they will learn to appreciate it.

So whenever you read something that questions his maturity, his level headed-ness or see mention of him being a head case, I ask you to remember one word: PASSION. Don't mistake his ability to entertain off the court as being immature or translating into being a head case on the court. Don't make that mistake.
DeMarcus had some fun on twitter after his workout last week saying "R.I.P. to the competition! Lmao" and I couldn't help but to be sad about missing his passion next year with the Wildcats.
