Friday John Calipari was in Eastern Kentucky touring coal mines with Joe Craft, who is a huge contributor to UK athletics. Joe is CEO of Alliance Coal Co., which is one of the largest coal companies in the United States. Craft, a Hazard, Ky native, pledged to give $6 million towards the contstruction of the Kentucky basketball practice facility, also known as 'The Joe Craft Center'.

This is part of the reason why we all have grown to love Cal so much. Not only does he win games, He understands the importance of our economy in the Bluegrass.
