Coach Cal Likes Drake

John Calipari has made a lot of friends since being the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats and it seems there are a lot of new fans too. Drake is one of the new members of Big Blue Nation and he recently gave some insight into his relationship with Coach Cal.


When asked about Calipari Drake said "I don't know if anyone sees Coach Cal in his private office time, but if I had to guess, I think he lights candles and listens to Phil Collins to calm himself down."

Well, Coach Cal doesn't totally disagree with his assessment. He had this response to the interview with Drake:

“To have Drake say those things about me and our program, that means a lot,” Coach Cal said on Sunday. “I’ve enjoyed getting to know him and getting to see him in concert in the Spring, I really appreciated how hard he works and what an incredible talent he is.
“But I do want to clear up one thing: I do like Phil Collins, but I don’t light candles,” Coach Cal said. “Ellen likes to light candles, but not me!”

“When I first met him and told Erin, Megan and Brad about it, the were absolutely convinced I didn’t not know Drake,” Coach Cal said. “They all love Drake and when they found out I really did know him, they were like, ‘Wow, not bad Dad!’”
