BREAKING: Tennessee Hires Butch Jones as Head Coach
After being rejected by Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden and Louisville head coach Charlie Strong, it appears the Vols have found their new head coach in Cincinnati Bearcat head man Butch Jones.
Jones, as you’ll remember, was a candidate for the Kentucky job and was strongly rumored at one point to have accepted the position. He also publicly denied a report he’d taken the Colorado head coaching position.
Jones will replace Derek Dooley, son of legendary coach Vince Dooley, who was fired after going an abysmal 15-21 after three seasons.
