While I was trying to take a picture of Rajon Rondo at the Big Blue All Star game, Rondo decided he wanted to take a picture of me and took my camera. After he took the pic he said to make sure I hang it on my wall. I'll just post my cheezy grin in my blog instead.
Yes I'm a Celtics fan (not apologies)! I grew up a Lakers fan and Kobe being Kobe (attitude) ruined that. Now I cheer for the Celtics. Here's a recap of game 2 and a few Rondo highlights. If you haven't watched one NBA game this year, you still need to check out this series. This is competition at it's best. Check out the Rondo pick the pocket of Kobe Bryant. As I sit here watching the Boston/Orlando game, I go back and just think about how good Rajon Rondo could have been at Kentucky if he had played in a more fast-paced style offense. Tubby ball certainly sheltered him from showcasing his true talent, but I won't trade his UK days for nothing. He hit some very big shots during his two seasons at UK and I was fortunate enough to be at the UCF game, where he hit a buzzer-beater to win the game. Now Rajon is about to lead the Boston Celtics to yet another NBA finals, as he and the C's lead the series 2-0. Speaking of the NBA, tonight the NBA draft lottery took place and the Washington Wizards got the pick they where hoping for - as they got the #1 pick and more than likely the rights to our very own, John Wall. Also, the Sixers got the #2 pick and it wouldn't surprise me if they picked Boogie Cousins. The poor Nets ended up with the #3 pick and I'd assume if avaliable - they'll select Evan Turner. So I'll just go ahead and predict that the top 3 picks in the NBA draft are: 1. John Wall (Wizards) 2. DeMarcus Cousins (Sixers) 3. Evan Turner (Nets). Also today, we finally heard something on Terrence Jones - as he'll sign something tomorrow, whether that's a LOI or a financial aid agreement. Signs are looking good for Kentucky - as Jones has waited this long to make a final say-so on where he'll be attending college next season. Hopefully it is Kentucky, but I wouldn't be surprised if he indeed stuck with Washington. That is all I have on my mind tonight... good night readers!
If you've been listening to the Morning Drive, you'll know I"m a big Rondo fan. It's been great to watch how his game has progressed over the last three years and now he's arguably the most valuable player for the Celtics. He's also proven he's a big game player and the NBA Playoffs are the perfect stage. On Sunday, the Celtics defeated the Cavaliers to even up the series 2-2. Rondo has been the key to each of the Celtics win. His energy on defense and his ability to find his teammates has been amazing. This highlight is the best example of what Rondo has been able to do throughout this season and the NBA playoffs. It just so happens to be against Lebron James. The King had been chasing down players and blocking their layup attempts throughout the series and this looked like another block for James. Then at the last second...... Well, you'll see. Rajon Rondo will make his first appearance in the NBA All Star Game. I still wonder how great it would have been if Rondo played right now in the DDM offense. Crazy stuff. Here is both teams, East and West. You have to love AI making the All Star starting roster. Just kidding. Practice?? Click to watch on Youtube
