Here is my official game prediction: South Carolina 28 Kentucky 7 I hate to do it but I have a hard time believing that in a week's time, the Kentucky offense has come around. The defense will come out strong again but they will tire out from being on the field too long...leaving the fake USC opportunity to score. I truly hope I am wrong in my prediction and will be pulling for our Wildcats!
I've always had a strong dislike for the Gators, mostly because I know a few Florida fans that think their poo doesn't stink. See, it all started when Florida was good at basketball for two years, then Gator fans started thinking they were a basketball school and had complete domination over Kentucky. Delusional. Therefore, from the obnoxiousness of those few fans that I know, I began to pull against Florida in every game, regardless of who they were playing. Unfortunately, I'm not getting a strong sense that the 24 game win streak Florida football has over Kentucky is going to end, in fact I'm just going into the game hoping the Cats don't look dreadful. The rain might give the Cats a chance to keep it close...r. I love my Cats and I'll be there tailgating all day, but I gotta say Florida 38 - Kentucky 14....Ouch! Prove me wrong boys, I'll be cheering you on either way! Go Cats!
So yesterday I spent about 6 hours tailgating with the now infamous whistle guy. I don't know this guy personally, he was a friend of a friend at the tailgate. What I can tell you is that him, and his buddy instantly seemed like they'd be on the wild side, and at least some good entertainment. Whistle guy did actually bust out the whistle during the tailgate on several occasions just goofing around. I remember specifically knocking the whistle out of his mouth at one point because it was driving me crazy! Needless to say, him and his buddies headed to the game and I thought it would be the last I ever saw of him and his whistle. My how I was wrong. The first time I heard the whistle during the game was about two plays before they actually caught him. Kentucky was on defense and as the whistle sounded, I could see the players actually ease up...this in turned led Louisville to a gain in yardage. Two plays later he blew the whistle again, this time the officials stopped play and we all saw the picture above, whistle guy getting led out of the game. Apparently, via whistle guy's facebook page, him and his buddy actually went to jail for this action. When I saw im being led out several sections away from me, I couldn't help but laugh. I could see the big antlers on his shirt as he was lead out and I knew it was him. (he was very proud of his shirt, talked about it a lot during the tailgate). This is all useless info, but thought I would share my story. I was not a fan of whistle guy, I think it is very dangerous for the players to hear a fake whistle, and it obviously was not giving Kentucky an advantage.
I haven't written in this thing in a long time, but since I am sitting here eating a hamburger I just fixed and drinking a nice cold silver bullet, I thought I would stretch this thing out a little. I am looking forward to the football game tomorrow because I am ready to tailgate all day long. If anyone is bored and hanging out over in the orange lot, I will be across Nicholasville Road behind the Dr. office next to the church. I have been parking there for over 10 years now and it is like a second home during football season. We will probably be playing some cornhole, making fun of the Louisville people over there, and drinking some nice cold beverages. I have really enjoyed the new writers we have at NOB, and if you haven't check out Chris Minton's newest blog post you really need to check it out. It is definitely hardcore so if you aren't ready for some nastiness stay away. We hope to do a live podcast from the game tomorrow, and I am a little worried because I will have tailgated for about 5 hours before it. So, if you can't understand me and you will pretty much know why. Lets hope the Cats have a great first quarter, especially since the 1st team that has scored has won the last 10 meetings. I look for Morgan Newton to go off, and as I said on one of the podcast this week, I think he will be SEC Player of the Week. Yep, I am crazy, but in a BLUE way. Guess I will get back to following tweetdeck and see if anyone is accusing Coach Cal of illegally recruiting a dog or something... Catch you later. Go Cats!!
Wow, how time flys! Just about 26 hours away from kick-off of the UK/UL football game and I am ready! I'm heading down to Lexington around noon tomorrow for a long day of tailgating and lots and lots of dri....um, cornhole. To give you an idea of my game day experience, this year I'm going down with my parents. I have season tickets and usually my parents will try to make it down to at least one game a year, and this year they chose the game vs. the dirty birds. I'm very much looking forward to a long day of tailgating, maybe I can even get my Dad to play a couple rounds of flip cup? #Awkward Anywho, heading to Lex with the 'rents and my sister, it's a big family day. My little brother is actually a sophomore at UK so I fully expect him to stop in for my free food. Aside from mi' familia, I've got several other friends, some even from high school that will be there, and my other tailgate buddies (@smyzo and @A2diddy) and I fully expect a great time, just hoping I remember the game after that long day....or do I? Here is my prediction, UL starts out fast, scores one early, Kentucky is slow in the first half, gets a field goal. 7-3 going into the second half. On UK's first drive in the 2nd, Clemons breaks a big one and Cat's take the lead 10-3. From that point Louisville struggles to score, Kentucky get's an interception and scores 2 more TD's to win 24-10, what do you say?
