The benefit of winning the UK/UL basketball game each year is plain and simple: fan bragging rights. In my eyes, winning the basketball game is more essential than winning the football game for a could reasons: A. Kentucky IS a basketball state. Yes, both schools play football but no matter what fans try to say, basketball is number one, always. 2. Whoever wins the basketball game gets longer bragging rights. The winner of the football game only gets a few months to say thier the best, once the game on the hardwood is finished, no one cares or remembers who won the football game and the victor can brag all the way until September 1st. (A, 2....get it? lol) I have been torn on this game and all of the tweets and radio callers this week have been getting under my skin...and I'm not just talking about Louisville fans. It goes both ways. In my honest opinion, I think today's game will be close. Louisville is very physical and will be looking to draw contact early. Will the refs whistles be tight? Will they let them play? I like Kentucky to win, even in a close game but I will not be shocked if Louisville can pull the upset. (God help me if this happens) My Louisville vs. Kentucky game prediction: Louisville 68 Kentucky 74 Let's go, it's time...GO CATS!!
(Is this who the Cats play tonight?) Tonight our Cats play their scrimmage before the big showdown this Saturday at noon. The Cats take on a "tough" Lamar team at 8:30pm on ESPNU. Give me your score prediction, and who you think will be the leading scorer for the Wildcats. Also, for the hell of it, tell me if you think Louisville or Georgetown will win tonight. I personally am semi pulling for the Cards, I'd rather them win tonight and take thier first loss against us at Rupp. Plus, when teams lose they often come back more focused in their next game, so I would LOVE an undefeated Cardinal team to stroll into Rupp Arena as if they rull the world. Bring. It. My prediction for tonight: Kentucky 84 Lamar 61 Leading Scorer: Lamb Louisville 64 Georgetown 59 Let's get 'em Cats!
