Random thoughts from Scott that are best placed in his personal blog.
This has been a great weekend for basketball and football sports fans. This time of the year you've got College Basketball, College Football, NFL and NBA games all going on at the same time. This weekend had some exciting games in all of them. The Kentucky Wildcats held off a late rally from the North Carolina Tarheels and pulled off the win.Alabama beat Florida for the SEC title and will meet Texas in the BCS Championship. The Lakers' Kobe Bryant hit's a last second 3-pointer to win against the Miami Heat. The Colts and the Saints exit the weekend undefeated; both at 12-0.To me, that is a pretty exciting sports weekend. The two downsides to this weekend we're the Louisville Cardinals getting smoked at home by Charlotte and that the weekend is now over. Back to work sports fans; we'll see you on the uphill road we call Monday. Peace Out.
Well, maybe not the last one since I will not, cannot and do not eat turkey. I will however eat some ham, mac-n-cheese, corn, rolls and dessert. Generally speaking though, Thanksgiving is a great holiday. Let's review: You get an extended weekend. You get to eat a lot.You get to watch College Basketball games before and after the holiday. There's usually a decent football game or two on (not the last two years thanks to the Detroit Lions). You get an extended weekend. To everyone out there in KY Rivalry land, here's to good eats and relaxation! Have a safe Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.
Not for UK or for UofL, but for Scott. We are on the road headed towards our favorite vacation spot: Tunica, MS. If you know where I'm talking about then you know that there is only 1 reason to go there and that's for the casinos. Tunica is about a 6 hour drive from Bardstown, KY so it's not too far, but far enough that you feel like your gone somewhere. That's what vacation is all about right? Feeling like your away from everything that causes you to feel like you need to get away in the first place. So, here's to getting away and here's to good times at the casinos (and hopefully good luck). Peace out.
The Kentucky Wildcats season officially begins tonight (11-13-09) as the new head coach John Calipari and team face off against Morehead St. The season opener will be played at Rupp Arena and airs on ESPNU at 6:30pm. The last time the Cats met the Morehead was in 2004 when the Cats posted a final score of 71 and Morehead 40. Tonight, we can expect more of the same as UK leads the series, 8-0 with a record of 6-0 at Rupp.
