Yes, the Lakers have won the NBA Finals, Kobe is the MVP and I'm not happy. I was cheering for the Celtics and UK's Rajon Rondo, but it just wasn't meant to be. If the Celtics want to win, Rondo has to become more of a threat on the perimeter. One of the most entertaining moments after the game was when Ron Artest plugged his upcoming single and thanks his psychiatrist.... You got to see that (video below). Here are the highlights from the game... In "in case you missed it news", Touchdown Jesus burns to the ground after being struck by lightning. I'm not talking about the one at Notre Dame, I'm referring to the 62' tall statues just north of us in Monroe, OH. It cost about $250K to construct and was obviously made of something highly flammable. Click to watch on Youtube
Well, it wasn't pretty for Celtics fans. It was over before it started. The Lakers just had a swagga about them that the Celtics just couldn't match. The Celtics also got smaller last knight as Kendrick Perkins goes out with a knee injury. Here's the game recap.... Click to watch on Youtube And here are the Shannon Brown Highlights... I'm a Celtics fan, but this was very impressive. Click to watch on Youtube
Had a nice uneventful trip to Pikeville this morning. That is until I received about 10 text messages about Marc Maggard tweeting about me this morning. Seems Mr. Maggard doesnt really care who I am. His feelings must have changed since I broke the Payne story. I know for a fact he and his minions were on the hunt for me and that came from at least 4 different people. It is cool Marc, Im not mad atcha!! I am just glad you read the site!! I don't guess you are anybody until MM tweets about you. Well, after I got to Pikeville, I met Bart Williams and Denny Paul May for lunch at Quizno's. Bart is the head boys basketball coach at Pikeville High School and Denny Paul is his assistant. One reason I came down earlier than I had planned was to help Bart out in a Jr High team camp and officiate a little bit. Well, that didnt work out because officials showed up so I ended up missing out on a little extra cash. So, I went and watched Bart's 2 boys play little league and I almost melted. So then, I had to get back for my online master's class and couldn't do that either. The format had changed and I couldn't figure out how to get to my class. I have been on a roll today!! Now I am watching the Celtics and Lakers, and it isnt looking very good for the Celts right now. Doesn't matter though, the game won't start until the last 5 minutes anyway. That has pretty much been my day. Plan on going to Jenkins tomorrow and hanging out with my crew over there. Still have a lot on my mind, and if you knew the situation, you wouldn't blame me. Patience is a virtue. Just wish I could master it. Well, I am outta here, might post tomorrow if I am able. I doubt it though. ha Until next time. Go Big Blue!
As everyone has probably heard, there's a really big soccer tournament going on right now. I'll apologize in advance for not being more into it, but it's just not going to happen. I've tried watching and the constant horn blowing and games ending in a tie is enough for me to give it up. I mean really, whats with the horns? It's not like they blow the horns when something good happens, it's all the time! When you do something all the time, it's no longer "special". It quickly becomes annoying! Ah.. Now I see what the problem is. This is how their instructed to cheer at sporting events in South Africa... Also, why would you end in a tie? People can talk about baseball being boring all they want, at least it doesn't end in a tie. There was the one All-Star Game that ended in a tie and to this day, is one of Bud Selig's worst decisions ever. OK, now that I'm done ranting about Soccer, lets have a recap of the game that everyone was waiting for. The game that actually sucked me in and had me watching soccer for the first time ever... The USA Vs. England I didn't see much of this game, but what I did see what England's goalie pull the equivalent of a Bill Buckner during the 86' World Series. If your NOT a soccer fan, you're in luck! I've actually found a replay of the game that you will actually enjoy. It's a reenactment of the match with all the players made out of Legos.. Yes Legos! Isn't everything better when it's made out of Legos? CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO
