  1. Do people think UK football sucks THAT bad?

I started a bit of a twitter firestorm yesterday. It was after the Mississippi State LSU game. I saw a Miss St. team that tallied under 200 total yards of offense and benched their starting quarterback of 17 years in the 4th quarter. Your thinking "Yeah but it was probably a blowout, right?". You would be wrong. At its absolute worse it was a 2 possession game. Had the bulldogs broke one for a td, and recovered an onsides kick, they would have won. Dan Mullen felt his team was playing so badly a change was needed and Relf was benched.

After witnessing the Miss St. offense i stated on twitter "As bad as UK football sucks, there's no way they will perform as badly against LSU as Miss St. did tonight". First off i state that UK football isnt great. So it is known i am not a blind stupid person. Secondly i state that UK would gain more than 200 yards offense against this LSU team. Am I out of line on either account?

IF UK starts from its own 20 and drive down to score just twice, they will have gained more than 200 yards of offense. I realize that UK didn't exactly light the word on fire against WKU in the first game, but it was the first game. It cant be used as a measuring stick until the end of time.

For instance, the UK basketball team 2 years ago went toe to toe against Miami (Ohio). In fact it took a last second shot by John Wall to win the game. Did that mean that Miami, OH was just as good as UK? No, it was early in the season, the team was still finding its identity and chemistry.

By no means am I saying UK will lead the nation in offense. I am saying that with the offensive line getting more and more healthy, Newton getting settled in and receivers catching a few more freaking balls, this UK team can put some points on the board. Will they score more than 6 points against LSU. Hell yes. Will they gain more than 200 yards against Louisville Saturday? They better, otherwise UK does in fact suck as bad as people think.

  2. How's it Going?

I haven't written in this thing in a long time, but since I am sitting here eating a hamburger I just fixed and drinking a nice cold silver bullet, I thought I would stretch this thing out a little.

I am looking forward to the football game tomorrow because I am ready to tailgate all day long. If anyone is bored and hanging out over in the orange lot, I will be across Nicholasville Road behind the Dr. office next to the church. I have been parking there for over 10 years now and it is like a second home during football season. We will probably be playing some cornhole, making fun of the Louisville people over there, and drinking some nice cold beverages.

I have really enjoyed the new writers we have at NOB, and if you haven't check out Chris Minton's newest blog post you really need to check it out. It is definitely hardcore so if you aren't ready for some nastiness stay away.

We hope to do a live podcast from the game tomorrow, and I am a little worried because I will have tailgated for about 5 hours before it. So, if you can't understand me and you will pretty much know why.

Lets hope the Cats have a great first quarter, especially since the 1st team that has scored has won the last 10 meetings. I look for Morgan Newton to go off, and as I said on one of the podcast this week, I think he will be SEC Player of the Week. Yep, I am crazy, but in a BLUE way.

Guess I will get back to following tweetdeck and see if anyone is accusing Coach Cal of illegally recruiting a dog or something... Catch you later. Go Cats!!

Wow, how time flys! Just about 26 hours away from kick-off of the UK/UL football game and I am ready! I'm heading down to Lexington around noon tomorrow for a long day of tailgating and lots and lots of dri....um, cornhole.

To give you an idea of my game day experience, this year I'm going down with my parents. I have season tickets and usually my parents will try to make it down to at least one game a year, and this year they chose the game vs. the dirty birds. I'm very much looking forward to a long day of tailgating, maybe I can even get my Dad to play a couple rounds of flip cup? #Awkward

Anywho, heading to Lex with the 'rents and my sister, it's a big family day. My little brother is actually a sophomore at UK so I fully expect him to stop in for my free food. Aside from mi' familia, I've got several other friends, some even from high school that will be there, and my other tailgate buddies (@smyzo and @A2diddy) and I fully expect a great time, just hoping I remember the game after that long day....or do I?

Here is my prediction, UL starts out fast, scores one early, Kentucky is slow in the first half, gets a field goal. 7-3 going into the second half. On UK's first drive in the 2nd, Clemons breaks a big one and Cat's take the lead 10-3. From that point Louisville struggles to score, Kentucky get's an interception and scores 2 more TD's to win 24-10, what do you say?

Right after the 108 yard return

Tonight I asked Randall Cobb to marry me via twitter, I'll be waiting by the phone for an answer......I'm sure he'll call....right?

Seriously though, ridiculous game by the Packer rookie tonight, proud to call him part of the BBN family!

Hi friends, welcome to my new blog, Full Court Press. See that there, that word play? Yeah, pretty smart huh?

This is where I will be completely goofy and probably state a little more opinion than I do in my weekly articles. Some of you may agree and several of you probably not, but please comment away, I love to get feedback!

Now that football is fully in swing and Big Blue Madness just over a month away, expect this blog to be busy.

Thanks for reading, can't wait to write more!
