The KHSAA Sweet 16 really is the Greatest Show in Hoops! I have been every year since 1987. My first one included Richie Farmer, Allen Houston,and Rupp Arena. I became hooked for life. This year was another great tournament as Shelby Valley won the State Championship. This is the first time a team from Pike County has ever won a KHSAA State Championship and the first mountain team that has won since 1996(Paintsville). They were also the first team to ever win the All A State Championship and the Sweet 16 in the same year.

I am sure some of you have heard of Elisha Justice, a 5-10 point guard who has committed as a preferred walk on to the University of Lousiville. Justice is a really nice player. He is quick as a cat and shoots the ball very well. He is probably going to be Mr. Basketball. He was Sweet 16 MVP as he blew by defenders and hit the 3 consistently throughout the tournament. When he wasn't shooting, he was passing and rebounding, as no one could stop Justice's strong play.

The reason I think he could be the next Landon Slone is Rick Pitino could leave Louisville any day. There are talks of him going to St. John's and every other place under the sun. If a new coach comes in and cleans house, just like Coach Cal did, then Justice could find himself lost in the mix. Justice needs to shop himself to other schools. This kid deserves a full scholarship somewhere.

I just hope another school offers Elisha Justice a scholarship and he decides to leave Lousiville. I would hate to see such a good player waste his career sitting on the bench for Louisville. Also, it would be a lot easier to like Elisha Justice if he would just go somewhere else.
