It seemed inevitable that former Kentucky Basketball center and role player Isaac Humphries would end up playing overseas somewhere when he decided to forgo his final 2 years at the University of Kentucky.
It all came to fruition for Humphries when the Wizards cut him before ever even making the trip to Las Vegas and now he is looking for a place to play.
Isaac will have to look no further than his home country of Australia as the Sydney Kings are dying for the 7 footer to be their big man.
“We have an interest in Isaac, we put that on the record, we hope that will come to fruition for us but we don’t know right now. It would be wonderful to have a Sydney talent like Isaac back in Sydney but that’ll be ultimately his decision and he’s not without options.”
Their sales pitch has been built around their development capabilities under one Australia’s greatest ever, Andrew Gaze and his staff which includes former Sydney star Luke Kendall and NBL legend Lanard Copeland.
“We would love to see Isaac in a Kings uniform, we honestly believe that Isaac can probably make the NBA at a later stage and we can hopefully help him in that goal, but he’s probably got 10 other teams right now saying from around the world we can help you with that goal too,”
“We’ve seen what’s happened with Jonah (Bolden) going to Europe and taking that route to the NBA. There’s many, many ways, there is many paths that guys can find their ways back here, but we certainly think we could be one of them.”
All the best to Isaac and his basketball future.
