Anthony Davis, 9th Double-double of the Season

New Orleans Hornets rookie Anthony Davis is on his 9th double-double of the season with 21 points and 11 rebounds. New Orleans handed Portland their fifth straight loss, 99-63 on Wednesday night.

“I came in (Tuesday) and got up a lot of shots and when the ball came to me, I just tried to be aggressive.”

“He needed that,” Hornets guard Greivis Vasquez said of Davis. “People are tough on him because he’s the No. 1 pick. But he’s going to be the player that everyone expects him to be. Tonight, he showed flashes. He was energetic; he was checking one of the best players in the game, an All-Star LaMarcus Aldridge.

“He did a good job and was playing with a lot of energy. Obviously he’s our franchise player. I mean, the future looks extremely bright for him.”
