A packed Scott County high school, which is usually filled with fans wearing red, was painted blue as the Big Blue Nation went to witness Huntington Prep’s Andrew Wiggins for themselves.
Wiggins had a couple of highlight reel dunks, which you will see later on Nation of Blue, but really couldn’t get it going from the field as he finished with 17 points on 6-18 shooting, 1-4 from the three, and 4-9 from the free throw line. Wiggins also had 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 2 steals, and 5 turnovers.
The #1 player in the country didn’t have to do all the scoring since he had a lot of help from his teammates to beat Christian Faith Academy 61-44.
Florida State 2013 signee Xavier Rathan-Mayes had 21 points and 2015 guard Montaque Gill-Caesar and Arkansas signess Moses Kingsley both had 9.
As mentioned earlier, there were many kentucky fans in attendance and a very loud “Go Big Blue” was chanted during a free throw by Wiggins, and all of this with John Calipari, Orlando Antigua, Kenny Payne, Kyle Wiltjer, and Jarrod Polson in attendance.
Even though Wiggins had an off night, the crowd was able to see a lot of high-major talent, and from listening to Andrew Wiggins at his postgame press conference, you can tell he was impressed with the BBN.
