Anthony Davis Punching Ticket to NBA Stardom

Anthony Davis continued making his case for an All-Star bid on Friday. He logged his 7th double-double in 12 games, scoring 17 points and 13 boards in New Orleans’ 104-100 win over Cleveland. Davis also had 3 blocks and 2 steals in the win.

Earlier in the week, A.D. joined KG as the only players under 20 to have 8+ blocks in back-to-back games. Through Thursday’s game, he is averaging 21 ppg, 10.8 rpg, 1.9 spg, 4.0 bpg.

From nba.com’s “Race to the MVP Laddder”:

A good argument could be made that Davis is currently the best big man in the league, based on his all-around performance and his consistency. He’s even ahead of the curve at 20 that Howard and Garnett set before him. That’s also the reason he has joined the elite group listed here on the KIA Race To The MVP Ladder.

About Regina Rickert

I am a writer and photographer covering UK for Nation of Blue and 11th Region prep hoops for The Road To Rupp. As a media contact for the Berea College News Service, I sent out press releases to hometown newspapers. This led to covering Berea men's basketball, writing game summaries for the Richmond Register newspaper. I have always loved photography, eventually combining it with my passion for sports. I began shooting UK athletics in 2010.
