Max Smith to Start at Quarterback vs. Miami

When the new depth chart came out this week Max Smith was listed #1 ahead of Jalen Whitlow. Smith came in at the start of the fourth quarter against Western Kentucky and had some success moving the football. Smith threw for 125 yards and one touchdown on 8-13 passing.

Stoops was asked this week if Max was the starter and he gave one simple answer “Yes”. Stoops also said Whitlow deserves to play, but if Max is hot they will stick with him.

With Smith being named the starter for this week I would expect to see Kentucky throw the ball 40 times or more. We will get to see the true air raid offense.

  1. We need all of our best players on the field. I am hoping that they will take a page out of the Randall Cobb era and get Jalen on the field with Max. I think Jalen can play at the next level as a receiver, much like Randall. GO BLUE, We are behind you!!
