Here is what Kyle Wiltjer has tweeted out about his decision to leave Kentucky and transfer to Gonzaga.

Dear BBN, this past month has been very emotional and challenging for me. Whether to transfer or not has been one of the toughest decisions of my life, so I would like to thank everyone for being so supportive through this process. I feel like in my basketball career I’m facing a make it or break it moment and the primary factor in this decision is transforming my body. I’m choosing to transfer to Gonzaga because i feel they have a proven plan in place to help develop players similar to me, which has seen great results. I believe with hard work I can maximize my development at Gonzaga. The last two years at UK have been a valuable experience and I’m very grateful for them. Even though I’m leaving the program, Coach Cal and I will continue our relationship and I will look to him for advice. He is more than just a coach to me. I have made many friends here and I plan to come back. My heart will always be in Lex.
Thank you BBN,
Kyle Wiltjer

  2. God speed kyle, I will alway’s think of you as a cat and a singer lol

  3. Good Luck Kyle ! Once a Wildcat always a Wildcat!

  4. Good luck to you, Kyle… I do believe you made the right choice…

  5. Kimberly Taylor-Holland

    Youll be great!

  6. Good Luck Kyle, I will still look for your games and I wish you success in all that you do.

  7. Good luck Kyle, very classy young man….thanks for the time at Kentucky!

  8. Barbara Albert Helm

You will be missed, your three pointers are great. Best of luck! I have to admit, I’m sorry to see you go.

  9. Good Luck Buddy, Thanks For The Time As A Wildcat And Looking Forward Seeing You At Gonzaga.

  10. Good luck Kyle and can’t wait to see you playing next season!!!

  11. if you had chosen to transfer your body, gather upper body strength as I am sure Coach Cal told you for 2 years your career would have developed in Lexington, with the best coaches, and the best program. If you dont do whats expected of you there, you will never make it to the next level. However, thanks for some fond memories.

  12. Good Luck Kyle, BBN will miss you but never forget you…

  13. i think he will stand out there and become the leader of the team by using everything he has learned from being a wildcat good luck Kyle

  14. Dave Whitehead

we’ll miss you man, good luck and hit the weights!!!

  15. I wish only the best for you Kyle. I am a wildcat fan, but my heart goes out to all those players who feel they need to go elsewhere to improve. I would never say you made a wrong decision because then I would just be selfish. Instead I will just say I hope your decision was for your best interest. Also, for those who want to say bad things about a wildcat player, former, current, or future, it is obvious you are not a true Wildcat fan because a true wildcat fan loves his/her wildcats forever. Good Luck Kyle and I look forward to seeing you in the NBA draft some day.

  16. Some players talents don’t fit a certain system, Kyle will do so much better with the Zags. Work hard young man with the season to sit out and you will be playing at the next level. Wishing you all the luck, now I have a reason to wear my Zags sweatshirt GO BBN

  17. If we didn’t have the amazing recruiting class that we do this year I
wonder if the fans would be so forgiving of Kyle leaving the
    program? I’m betting NO!
