UK will conclude spring action in West Lafayette, Ind., on the campus of Purdue to play both the host Boilermakers and Ball State on Saturday, April 20.

Gergins Joins Wildcats for 2013

Alyssa Gergins has joined the Wildcats in 2013. A setter from Murrieta, Calif., Gergins suited up for two seasons at The Master’s College in Santa Clara, Calif. Gergins helped lead the Mustangs to a 27-8 overall record in her sophomore season where the team earned a national place finish of 11th and an assent up the national polls to as high as No. 6 in the nation.

“Alyssa is a great addition to our program,” Skinner said. “She has a great sense for the game, a high IQ, and really sets a ‘hitters’ ball. With her only having been here a few weeks, I am blown away by how fast she has fit into our team culture.”

Gergins dished out 989 assists and logged 242 digs in her second season with the Mustangs. She passed out a career-high 50 assists against Cal State San Marcos, and averaged 15.0 assists per set against Southern Oregon.

In her first season at Master’s College, she passed out 646 assists, logged 157 digs and tossed up 40 service aces en route to helping the Mustangs to a 20-15 overall clip.
