Anthony Davis has been cleared to hit the practice floor today, but New Orleans head coach Monty Williams doesn’t know if he will be ready for Tuesday’s game with Washington.
“I’m not sure if he has to take another test today, tomorrow or has already taken it,’’ Williams said. “He’s been cleared for contact and is ramping up his conditioning. He practiced a little bit, but again (we) have to wait until tonight or tomorrow to see how he feels. He has been working with Coach Carlos (Daniel).”
Davis has missed 11 straight games due to a stress reaction in his left ankle and his teammates can’t wait to get him back on the floor.
“We definitely want him to come back,’’ guard Greivis Vasquez said. “I’m not a trainer, but he definitely wants to play. It’s so hard for him to sit with the suit on and watch games. I would be surprised if he plays Tuesday.”
If Anthony Davis doesn’t play on Tuesday, it does sound like he will play sometime this week. The Hornets play at Oklahoma City on Wednesday and at home Friday vs. Minnesota.
