The #3 ranked Kentucky Wildcats(1-1) host the Lafayette Leopards(1-1) on Fox Sports South at 7pm.

Lafayette has opened to a 1-1 record to begin the 2012-13 campaign under 19th year head coach Fran O’Hanlon. The Leopards are led by freshman guard Bryce Scott who is averaging 23 points per game thus far which includes a 30-point effort in an overtime victory over LIU-Brooklyn. Friday’s meeting will mark the first contest in the series’ history between the two squads.

Lafayette takes on its fi rst nationally ranked opponent since No. 6/7 Villanova on Nov. 20, 2010.

The Wildcats own an all-time record of 8-1 against members comprising the Patriot League. UK has faced Navy the most often possessing a 3-1 record against the Midshipmen.

Lafayette was picked to fi nish fourth in the Patriot League’s Preseason Poll behind Lehigh, Bucknell and American. Holy Cross was also chosen to fi nish fourth, while Army, Colgate and Navy rounded out the list.

UK coach John Calipari has comprised an all-time 5-1 record against the Patriot League members. His most common opponent is also Holy Cross and he owns a 4-1 record against the Crusaders.

Fran O’Hanlon’s 2012-13 squad is one of 10 NCAA Division I men’s basketball teams with multiple Australian-born teammates. Sophomore Dan Trist (Sydney) and freshman Nathaniel Musters (Padstow) each hail from Australia.
