Mike Gundy Mentioned by Sources as a Possible Splash Hire for Kentucky Football

You have heard all the names of the possibles for the Kentucky Football coaching job, but it looks like you can add another one to the list.

This from 24/7 Sports:

Kentucky – Multiple sources tell us that AD Mitch Barnhart would like to make a splash hire with someone like Mike Gundy. It’s more likely the Wildcats will end up with someone like David Cutcliffe or San Jose State’s Mike MacIntyre. Tommy Tuberville seemed to be in the mix prior to his “slap” of a GA Saturday.

I don’t know if any of this is true or not, but I think it would be a stretch if Gundy left his alma mater to come to Kentucky.

I am almost sure we won’t hear anything official till after the Tennessee game, but it sure is interesting how many names can be involved with the job at Kentucky.

Whatever…. Just keep bringing in these nobody’s that MIGHT luck up and get us to the BIG BOBS USED TIRES BOWL every three or four years. If this is the direction they’re planning on going AGAIN, then I’m out. Just more of the same thing we’ve always had. A pathetic, bottom feeding, SEC team…. HIRE US A REAL FLIPPIN COACH FOR A CHANGE. Just call the man “BOBBY PETRINO”.

What are you talking about? Gundy and OK St. were in title contention last year. Plus, he doesn’t have any baggage (unless you count the “I’m a man!! I’m 40!!” speech from a few years ago). He could bring in recruits and try to build a contender in the SEC. I doubt he will leave OK St., but he’s been the best option I’ve seen so far.

Just Hire Bobby P and watch the stands fill up. He is the right hire NOW. Hire Bobby or Ditch Mitch.
