Kentucky Football Coaching Search Sources, Rumors, & Opinions

The first week after the Kentucky Football season is here and the rumors are in full force already this morning.

We have already heard from one that says Butch Jones is a done deal and will be announced as the coach early this week.

Well, one coaching search website doesn’t think that will happen.

This from FootballScoop.com:

Kentucky: Plenty of people sending us reports that Butch Jones will be named head coach at Kentucky very soon. Our sources tell us this is not the case.

MrSEC.com is betting on Mike MacIntyre from San Jose State.

If we were betting, we’d put our money on MacIntyre because our sources tell us he’s a real hotshot-to-be who can sell a program (which is a need at UK). That said, it’s been reported that UK has interviewed Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops for its job, too. Mark served as the D-coordinator at Arizona under his brother Mike Stoops before moving to Tallahassee in 2009. He is the younger brother of Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops. He also has a profile that seems to fit Barnhart’s past hires.

My opinion is MacIntyre sounds like the odds on favorite right now, but the Butch Jones stuff makes you wonder which name is a smoke screen for the actual hire.

Nation of Blue will keep you up to date of all the rumors of the Kentucky Football coaching search, so keep refreshing!!!
