Dakari Johnson Reclassifies to 2013 and is Considering Kentucky

One of the top big men in the country, Montverde’s Dakari Johnson, has decided to reclassify to the 2013.

The former Sayre High School player in Lexington is considered one of the top centers in the country and many thought Kentucky would have a shot at landing him in the class of 2014.

Now that he has changed classes, especially with Kentucky already having Marcus Lee in the 2013 class, how much mutual interest there would be between the two.

Dave Telep spoke to Johnson’s mother and it sounds like Kentucky is still in the mix.

According to Makini Campbell, Johnson’s mother, interest in the 6-foot-10, 260-pound center is coming from Florida, Georgetown, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio State and Syracuse. Last weekend, Hoyas coach John Thompson III was at Montverde to show his interest in Johnson.

Dakari Johnson will not announce his decision until the spring, so there will be time to figure everything out on both sides of the recruitment.
