Archie Goodwin named SEC Freshman of the Week

The Southeastern Conference has named Kentucky’s Archie Goodwin the Freshman of the Week.

Kentucky’s Archie Goodwin, a 6-foot-4, 198-pound freshman guard from Little Rock, Ark., was named SEC Freshman of the Week after averaging 25.0 points 7.5 rebounds and 6.5 assists in wins over Morehead State and LIU Brooklyn. Goodwin logged a career-high 28 points in a win over Morehead State to begin the week. It is the seventh-most points in a game for a UK freshman in the history of the program and the most by any UK player this season. He then followed that performance by nearly charting the second triple-double in school history. He posted a team-high 22 points to accompany career-highs in assists (9) and rebounds (9).

Can Archie Goodwin win the Freshman of the Week as much as Johnny Manziel has won the award in football?

I think it is a real possibility.
