Maryland had Everything to get the Harrison Twins Except John Calipari

John Calipari can flat out recruit.

The Kentucky Wildcats just received commitments from the #1 point guard and #1 shooting guard in the 2013 class in a matter of a few words.

Andrew and Aaron Harrison have decided to be Wildcats over a team that looked like they had everything the two recruits could have ever wanted.

Jeff Borzello of CBS Sports writes everything except John Calipari.

Maryland had essentially everything going for it when it came to Andrew and Aaron Harrison. There was the six-year relationship head coach Mark Turgeon had with the family. There was the friendship Aaron Harrison Sr. had with assistant coach Bino Ranson, and the friendship the twins have with incoming Maryland freshman Shaq Cleare. The twins’ grandparents live in Baltimore. And of course, Under Armour.

Kentucky had John Calipari. And Calipari doesn’t lose. In the end, that’s all the Wildcats needed.

The twins pledged to Kentucky on Thursday afternoon, choosing the Wildcats over Maryland. It could jumpstart yet another No. 1 class for Calipari.

This is just the beginning of what could be the best class in the history of basketball.

Enjoy the ride Big Blue Nation.
