After seeing the tweets I posted earlier, one would think Marcus Lee would be favoring Kentucky right now after visiting Big Blue Madness.
Aaron Harrison Senior, who spoke to Ben Davis of Kentucky.com, makes me feel even more confident that Lee could be the next commitment for the 2013 class.
Harrison Sr. said his sons got to spend a lot quality time with fellow commitments James Young and Derek Willis, as well as Marcus Lee, the only uncommitted senior who attended Madness.
He said his sons have known Lee since they were 8 or 9 years old when Lee came to Texas to play in a youth tournament. The California forward, who’s expected to make a decision soon, has returned to Texas over the last few summers and has worked out with the Harrisons several times on those visits.
Harrison Sr., who coached his sons’ AAU team, compared Lee to Derrick Griffin, one of the twins’ AAU teammates who has committed to play basketball at Texas A&M.
“He feels comfortable with him,” Harrison Sr. said. “He sees what they have done (with Griffin) and he feels like he can fit in very well with that.”
Harrison Sr. also had some great insight to his sons’ visit and a great story about Archie Goodwin.
We will also find out where Marcus Lee has decided to go this week or next, as he has spoke to Cat’s Illustrated and says he will make his decision shortly after his California visit this week.
“We’re going to take an official to California this week,” Lee said, “There’s nothing new that we want to see at California, we just thought it would be best to take one last look somewhere before jumping to a snap decision right after returning from Lexington.
“After that California visit we’re going to really focus in on making a decision. If not next week then most likely the week after Marcus will have a decision made.”
Could it be another Thursday ESPNU Recruiting Nation announcement where Kentucky gets another commitment?
