LEXINGTON, Ky. – In a match set to feature two dynamic offenses, the No. 25 rated Kentucky volleyball team hosts 18th ranked Tennessee in a Southeastern Conference showdown on live national television Wednesday night. First serve is set for 8:02 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Tennessee owns a 15-2 overall clip and a flawless 8-0 record in league action. This marks the third consecutive season the two squads will square off before a live national television audience.

“We are looking forward to the match on Wednesday,” UK coach Craig Skinner said. “Tennessee is in the seat to this point that the rest of the SEC wants to be in. We will need to play well in order to be successful.”

UK marketing will be giving away free Chick-fil-A for a year to one lucky fan at the match. Fans are also encouraged to wear White to tomorrow night’s match. Kentucky owns an all-time record of 345-141 in Memorial Coliseum and a terrific 85-20 clip during the Skinner era.

Wednesday’s match will feature the top two offensive teams in the SEC and a pair of units that rank among the nation’s top-15 most efficient scorers. Kentucky tops the league with 14.38 kills per set, while Tennessee ranks second with 14.28 per frame.

Kentucky’s offense boasts a balanced attack that features six players totaling between 2.14 and 2.97 kills per frame, with all six players leading the scoring in at least one match this season. Tennessee is led by Kelsey Robinson’s SEC-leading 4.69 hammers per stanza.

“This match will be great for the volleyball community in this part of the country,” Skinner said. “The sport is becoming really popular around here, and this match will showcase college volleyball at its best.”

The Wildcats also lead the league in aces per set and top the conference with 2.48 blocks per set. The Wildcats have charted 10 or more blocks in 10 matches this season.

Kentucky leads the all-time series by a 40-28 mark, however the Lady Vols have captured five straight in the series.
