UK Hoops started Individual workouts yesterday and coach Mitchell gave us some insights into what you might see this season.

Mitchell mentioned that some players showed up in better conditioning than others and he was impressed with how good the Freshman looked. He stated that freshman Drake and Barnett looked good today . When speaking about Barnett, Mitchell said, "she's a heck of a shooter".

Kyra Elzy who has been a Recruiting Coordinator with Coach Mitchell and UK Hoops for the past 3 seasons was promoted to Associate Head Coach yesterday. Elzy is a LaGrange, KY native who has a lot of experience with collegiate basketball and played a huge roll in recruiting one of the nations top classes for UK Hoops this season.

The unexpected occurred during a season where little was expected. The Lady Wildcats found their game, starting the season 11-0 and ending with an Elite 8 loss to Oklahoma. The 28-8 Cats were the surprise of the SEC.

The Lady Cats won't sneak up on anyone this year. Returning all but two team members, expectations are high for the upcoming season and the schedule indicates the new found confidence gained by our Wildcats.
